TIMELINE OF EVENTS

During the occupation of Kessler, a forbidden love grows between a German soldier and a French baker’s daughter. When he learns he is to be sent to the front line, betrayal shadows their fragile romance — and the old well, long whispered about in village tales, waits quietly for what comes next.
Shot down over occupied France, an RAF pilot must cross miles of forests while evading German patrols and surviving the harsh elements. Cut off from command, he’s forced into a brutal contest of endurance and identity—one that blurs the distinction between what is real and what is not.
As Germany collapses, desperation turns to delusion. Hitler demands a miracle: soldiers who will not bleed, retreat, or die. In a hidden facility, scientists attempt the impossible—raising an army from the dead—and Mont Noir becomes the proving ground for their final experiment.
No More Left To Bury — March 1944
In the isolated town of Kessler, a German Gefreiter discovers the marshlands are alive—and hungry. When the army begins feeding it their dead, Rehfeld is forced to witness horrors that erode his sanity. The marsh remembers everybody it consumes, and it begins to haunt the living who fed it.
After a failed mission, French Resistance fighters escape into the sewers beneath Vire to evade the Nazis. But as they push deeper into the tunnels, they realise the darkness below the city hides more than just stagnant water and forgotten passageways.
An elite Allied unit investigates an abandoned German research site buried in the shadows of Mont Noir. Inside, they awaken a substance that behaves like weather, infection, and intelligence all at once. One by one, the team is unmade. The lone survivor’s testimony is the only record of the Black Snow event.
Traitor in the Snow — April 1945
Fleeing MN‑13, a secret bunker high in the mountains, a squad of Nazi soldiers attempts to escape through blizzard and fog. But the cold is not what hunts them. As their minds unravel and loyalties fracture, they realise something followed them out of the bunker—and it doesn’t want them to leave the mountain.
A surveying team is sent into the old Mont Noir mine for strategic resource recovery, but what they uncover is far older than anything their ancestors ever claimed from the mountain. Mor’eth lies sealed behind an ancient sigil deep in the rock, and one more death will be enough to break it—unleashing something far greater than any war.
After the reset, the world forgets the war—everyone except Amélie. Haunted by spirals, impossible coordinates, and the eerie calm of those around her, she begins to uncover the truth: history wasn’t rebuilt, it was rewritten. And the author of that rewrite is still watching.
When Rene Fontaine’s brother is carried down from Mont Noir, barely alive, doctors give him days to live. But as Rene keeps vigil, he realises something else is taking hold—something that was brought down the mountain with him. Death would have been a mercy compared to what his brother is becoming.
An explorer ventures into Mont Noir seeking a lost Wehrmacht bunker that should have remained sealed. MN-13 is not empty. What he finds inside is dangerous—but what follows him out is worse. The incident becomes the foundation for the modern MN-13 containment protocols.
The Cursed Locket — September 1958
A fisherman hauls a locket from the depths, and fortune soon begins to cling to him. But the gift is not free. Whether by coincidence or by the will sealed inside the metal, the locket’s true price reveals itself slowly—and it is far darker than anything he imagined.
